About Matt
Hi!
Professionally
I am a computer programmer, and most of my experience is in web programming. My primary language is PHP, but I also like Ruby, Python, C++, and Java.
Of course, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and all that crazy XML stuff (XSLT, XPath, etc.) go without saying—they are easy!
I have a LinkedIn profile that may or may not be up-to-date, so feel free to take a look at that. Hire me! (You could also download my résumé or check out algebraic! web design.)
Personally
I am a little uncomfortable describing who I am in this kind of setting. I think Earth already has a perfect system, and the internet is not needed here. So how about you get in touch with me, we can hang out, and then snap bang zooom before you know it we’ll be friends.
Alternatively, I have a blog and a facebook account, so I guess you can snoop around there and maybe you will learn whatever you want to know. I am not opposed to being internet-stalked, but it is not very much fun for me.
My lifegoal is to be allowed into my treehouse of awesome dudes.
Websites I like
If you have curiosity about the drug industry (as you should if you or anyone you know uses drugs, which is definitely the case—you should be curious), Pharmalot is an extremely good independent news source that is pretty trustworthy. Serious dogg, it is hard to get good information about the drug industry, so check it out!
Achewood is an extremely good comic. It is a tad difficult get into though, so I recommend starting with its most famous story arc.
While I’m talking about comics, I will also mention Super Mega. You probably will not enjoy it so you should not click on that link. Super Mega is the first comic I started reading on the internet, so it will always be special to me. I still think it is hilarious—feel free to judge me (you’ll be wrong).
If you’re looking to learn HTML (or CSS or JavaScript or XML or or or etc.), W3Schools is the place to go. They do an extremely good job of teaching these things.
Other than that, I don’t actually use the internet much (other than programming on it, which I do a lot). I will add websites to this list as I think of them.
Geek Code
A bit of internet good old times. If you don’t know what this is, don’t worry about it. It is pretty nerdy.
